🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Share Frustration Over Sizing Updates Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size. The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all users about the change. Social Media Backlash Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with other platforms. The platform has recommended to review their products and manually change the size where appropriate, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Modifications Earlier, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The new system has a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Experiences A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Another user, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she said. Service Background The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
